| Intellectual Property School introduction |

Among all the universities in Shaanxi province, Northwest University is the one who initially carried out research and education on intellectual property. After absorbing some of the teacher resources of the relating profession in Northwest University, based on Intellectual Property Protection Centre and Law School of Northwest University, Intellectual Property School of Northwest University was eventually founded in Nov. 2005, which filled the gap of Shaanxi province in this area. Today, Intellectual Property School of Northwest University, which is the only one in Shaanxi province and the first one in West China, has become the base of higher education of intellectual property.
Intellectual Property School has two centers, one is for intellectual property protection, and the other is for intellectual property case study. And in Oct. 2010, it has been authorized to be the Shaanxi basis of National Intellectual Property Training. The School has a powerful teaching staff which covers a wide range of profession. There are 33 full-time schoolteachers in total, which includes 15 professors or vice professors and 13 Ph. D and 12 Ph. D candidates. Besides, the school has invited more than 40 adjunct professors. About 30 teachers has become Chairman, vice-chairman, executive director or member of a council of the nationwide law societies. And no less than 20 of them have been invited to be expert consultants for provincial or municipal court of justice or procuratorate.
Intellectual Property School has on its shoulders the research and education of undergraduate program and minor program of intellectual property, together with those of the master degree candidate of civil and commercial law major, international law major and LLM. Meanwhile, it carries on training program and daily management the Shaanxi basis of National Intellectual Property Training.
The school has paid much attention to theoretical research on intellectual property. The school faculties has published more than 100 research papers on authoritative and core journals such as “China legal Science” and “Intellectual Property”, etc. In order to improve the construction and development of the disciplines, it has successfully organized more than 10 academic conferences of large-scale, such as “Western China Intellectual Property Summit Forum” as well as “Intellectual Property Protection of State-owned Enterprise Tribune”, etc.
In one words, taking intellectual property training as its responsibility, definitely knowing the main direction and gradation of discipline construction, Intellectual Property School of Northwest University has vigorously contributed to the economic development and social progress of West China.
